How Our Laser Hair Removal Pricing Works
I’m writing this in winter, which means two things are happening at Lucēre right now: everyone's suddenly thinking about summer skin, and I'm getting laser hair removal pricing questions in my inbox on repeat. So instead of answering them one at a time forever, I thought I'd just lay the whole thing out here.
Why I built it this way
I never wanted LHR pricing at Lucēre to feel like a guessing game or involve signing a 12 page document with an extra page of ‘fine print’ or to have fifty different prices for every single area on the body! So I tried to make it as simple as possible. Once you understand the logic, you can actually work out your own price before you even walk in the door - which is exactly how it should be.
The building blocks
Every area you might want treated falls into one of four groups, based roughly on size and how long it takes on the table:
Option A - 1-2 small areas ($85 a session): things like lip, chin, underarms, bikini line, snail trail, hands, feet
Option B - 3 small areas ($125 a session): everything in Option A, plus areas that need a bit more coverage - extended bikini line lives here
Option C - 1 medium area ($200 a session): full face, half arms, half legs, or Brazilian
Option D - 1 large area ($315 a session): full legs, full arms, full chest, or full back
Straightforward enough. Here is why some areas land where they do - so let's talk about bikini lines, because it's a great example of the logic in action.
Bikini line = Option A | Extended bikini line = Option B
Here's how I explain Option A and B, and it comes down to one simple rule: anything on both sides of your body counts as two areas, not one.
Underarms, for example - that's two armpits. Two areas. Bikini line (sides only) is the same idea: a strip down the left side, a strip down the right side. Two areas. That's why bikini line sits comfortably in Option A alongside underarms - it's already "used up" the two-area allowance on its own, and you pay the one flat $85.
Extended bikini line is a different treatment. It covers those same two sides, plus a strip along the top front. Two sides plus one top = three areas. That's the actual reason it sits in Option B rather than Option A. It's the same "how many areas" logic just adding up to a different number. It also sits in a middle ground - wider coverage than a standard bikini line, but you still keep a strip up front, so it's short of a full Brazilian.
Single session, payment plan, or paid upfront - your call
However you want to pay, there's a version that works:
Single session - pay as you go, no commitment, no discount. Totally fine if you're not ready to commit to a full course yet. Maybe you are visiting and won’t be coming back any time soon, or maybe you want to try it once before committing to a series. There are lots of reasons to just purchase one session, maintenance being the main reason. You’ve already had laser previously and you just want a one-off ‘top up’ treatment.
Payment plan - this is the one most people ask about. I send you an invoice for the total amount with my bank details, and you chip away at it however suits you. I recommend paying it off in four instalments per treatment. Four weeks is the shortest time interval we would ever consider in between two treatments, but it’s more common to have six or eight weeks between treatments. Four payments per treatment just makes the numbers nice and manageable and gives you a buffer period if you do happen to miss a scheduled payment. So that's my suggestion, but not a rule. Pay it in one go, pay it in ten - I genuinely don't mind, as long as each treatment is paid in full before it happens, or you settle whatever's left on the day itself.
Paid upfront - pay for a full block of six sessions in one go and get the best available price per session. If you already know you're committed, this is where the real savings are.
A note on course length
A full course typically runs 9-12 months and around 8-12 sessions total, because hair has to be caught across several growth cycles - it's just how the biology works, not a sales tactic to keep you coming back. The second block of six is priced lower than the first, because by that point your hair's usually a bit sparser and sessions go quicker. And if you don't end up needing the full second block, the remaining sessions sit banked for maintenance treatments - no expiry.
