Welcome to Lucere - and thank you for being here, whether you're a familiar face or someone considering walking through our door for the first time.
I started Lucere just over two years ago, and honestly? It has exceeded every expectation I had. Not just in terms of the treatments and the results - but in the people. My clients have become one of the best parts of this job, and I don't say that lightly.
Growing up as a teenager with pale skin and dark hair (thanks to my lovely Greek grandfather), hair removal was an issue. Living in the city in my early 20s, I got laser hair removal back when it was still pretty new and seriously expensive. During one of those appointments, a laser technician visiting from the US treated my face for acne before it was even an official service at the clinic - and I was amazed by the result from just one treatment.
Then, a few years later, I went looking for the cheapest laser hair removal I could find while on a tight budget - I came out with a burn. I had no idea that was even possible. It taught me two lessons I've never forgotten: check the training of the person behind the machine, and cheap treatments can mean cheap (and unsafe) technology.
Later, living overseas, I became friends with a laser technician who genuinely loved her job. It planted a seed. And finally, back in the Wairarapa, my daughters started asking about various treatments - and I realised I couldn't find a provider. My own wedding was coming up at the time and I couldn't get an appointment anywhere locally. I knew there were still plenty of people driving over the Remutakas for their treatments, and it was clear there was room for one more business in town.
It's funny how those seemingly unconnected moments, spaced years apart, all pointed in the same direction.
I went on to formally study lasers, light and energy devices - graduating all my courses with honours - and I continue to train with clinical experts from New Zealand and overseas. Davey and I researched internationally to find the best and safest devices available, and those investments have given us access to world-class mentors whenever we need them. In this industry, the learning genuinely never stops, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

What Lucere looks like in practice
Lucere is just me! I am the only person who will ever perform your treatments - there are no other staff, no rotating technicians, no wondering who you'll get on the day. That means we actually get to know each other. My clients and I build a real relationship over time, and that continuity matters enormously when you're trusting someone with your skin.
I work by appointment, which means I can offer real flexibility - early mornings, late evenings, weekends - whatever works for your life. The clinic itself has a quiet, unhurried atmosphere that people seem to genuinely appreciate. There's no hard sell here, no pressure, no upselling you into things you don't need. Just an honest conversation about what's possible and what's right for you.
My focus is on a small number of advanced treatments using world-class technology and the highest quality skincare. My priorities are safety first and exceptional results - and I pair that with my own values: a simple, natural approach to skin and a pro-age mentality. I'm not interested in fighting the clock. I'm interested in helping you be the best, most authentic version of yourself. Long-term solutions over quick fixes, always.
Two years in
There is still so much ahead. But right now, in this moment, I'm most grateful for the community that has grown around this little clinic in Lansdowne Village. Thank you for being part of it.
