Sylfirm X RF Microneedling

RF is an electric current corresponding to the frequency that carry radio signals. When RF is transmitted to skin tissue, it is transformed into heat at 40-60 degrees celcius. It causes structural changes, denaturation or coagulation of proteins and collagen, which promotes wound healing and stimulates collagen production.

RF microneedling is a combination of RF and microneedling into a single system to deliver RF energy precisely and deeply into the skin by creating controlled micro-injuries.

Stimulating wound healing and the production of new collagen, RF microneedling is primarily used for skin rejuvenation, tightening, lifting, scar treatment, wrinkles, large pores, loose skin, acne and acne scars and making the skin look younger and revitalised.

Traditional microneedling treatment induces wound healing and collagen production by creating mechanical damage to the skin.

RF microneedling is an advanced procedure that creates deeper and more precise micro-injuries in a controlled manner. You can expect a more effective, targeted, and long-lasting effect with fewer treatments than traditional microneedling.

For treatments on skin with no specific concerns, microneedling is a good option. For skin with specific targets and concerns, Sylfirm X is a superior option.

In general, a series of 3 treatments 4-6 weeks apart is recommended. However the number of sessions depends on skin condition and the client’s desired outcome as well as the intensity of the settings.

For prejuvenation and general skin maintenance, you can have an annual 1-4 treatments. A wonderful way to keep your skin in great shape.

It depends on the individuals specific concern, their skin condition, and compliance to post treatment care instructions.

Typically the ‘treatment effect’ begins to appear within 1-2 weeks of treatment. An example of this might be a feeling of tightness, a change in texture, or a reduction in inflammation.

In some cases, clients with a history of acne, skin breakouts or folliculitis a Sylfirm X treatment can stimulate a latent inflammation that can lead to a breakout, skin purge, or inflammation of the hair follicle within 2-3 days, this will naturally subside and should not be picked or scratched.

For visible results to pigmented or vascular lesions, scars, acne and wrinkles, improvement can be seen from the second or third treatment.

RF microneedling targeting specific concerns is a long game option. It takes time to fix the structure and foundation of the skin.

Sylfirm X has a dual-wave system. It produces a continuous wave and pulsed waves that can treat not only skin rejuvenation, tightening and lifting, but also pigmented lesions and vascular lesions such as melasma, diffuse redness and rosacea, which are difficult to treat with conventional RF microneedling systems.

Syfirm X enables targeted treatment of 0.3mm up to 4mm. It was developed through numerous studies and experiments and is backed by clinical studies. It utilises various modes and a wide range of parameter settings to enable customised and delicate treatments. Traditional RF needling systems are more restricted in their parameter settings and treatment indications.

Typically clients might experience a sunburn-like redness and possible swelling which is usually quite subtle.

Waffle-like marks and a tingling or sunburn/hot sensation are normal immediately after treatment, but this subsides within 30mins - 6 hours in most cases.

In some cases a skin purge or latent inflammation can last 1-5 days as the body begins its healing response.

Sylfirm X is safe and tolerable for most people. Sylfirm X’s dual wave technology, various setting options and depths ensure a safer and more controlled treatment than traditional RF microneedling technology which is often painful and aggressive. We love that Sylfirm X has the 0.3mm depth which means that even very sensitive skin and tricky conditions such as melasma can be treated effectively and gently, minimising the risk of adverse effects.

As with any aesthetic procedure, there are contraindications, and considerations that would make this treatment unsafe for some.

This treatment may not be suitable for you if you are: on some specific medications; immune compromised; prone to keloid scarring and more. We cover this comprehensively in your consultation before going ahead with any treatments.

Risks of Sylfirm X treatments: can depend on the constitution of the client. Ideally the client is healthy and the wound healing response is quick and easy. If the client is rundown, unwell, or suffering from any metabolic disorder, the healing response may be compromised.

Pigmented lesions can darken and then lighten within 1-2 weeks.

Some clients can experience skin breakouts, pimples, inflammation of the hair follicle, scabs, and crusting. These symptoms usually subside spontaneously within 2-3 days.

Redness will last longer with a more intensive treatment. A treatment with a deeper needle depth can elicit pinpoint bleeding or bruising. Excessive treatments or neglect of post care instructions also compromise healing.

In rare cases symptoms may include hyperpigmentation, blisters or a burn.

Sylfirm X needles (or bi-polar electrodes) are gold coated, blister packaged and EO-sterilized.

The bi-polar electrodes are disposable and can only be used once for each client.
