BBL is best suited to Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV. If you have a darker skin tone, MOXI alone or Sylfirm X may be a better option - we'll talk through this at your consultation.
The BBL + MOXI Duo - what to expect
Your appointment typically runs 60-90 minutes depending on the area treated. We start with BBL to address colour and pigmentation first, then move to MOXI to refine texture and stimulate collagen. Your skin is numbed beforehand so you're comfortable throughout.
During: Warm, prickly sensations - most people find it very tolerable. You'll wear protective goggles throughout.
Immediately after: Flushed and warm - like a day at the beach. You can drive home.
Days 1-3: Red and warm. MENDS (tiny bronzing dots from MOXI) begin to appear from day 2-3 - this is normal and a sign your skin is working.
Days 4-7: MENDS slough off to reveal fresher skin underneath. Makeup is fine from day 2.
Weeks 2-4+: Collagen keeps building. Many clients notice their skin still improving a month later.

Yes - and it's actually the most effective way to do both. BBL is performed first to clear pigmentation and redness, then MOXI refines the texture. Your skin goes through one recovery period rather than two, and the results are better than doing them weeks apart.

Beyond the convenience of one appointment and one recovery, the combination creates a synergistic effect. BBL clears the canvas, and MOXI works on skin that's already been stimulated. You also save $250 compared to booking them individually.

Anyone with sun damage, uneven pigmentation, dull or rough skin texture, or early signs of ageing. BBL is best suited to lighter skin tones (Fitzpatrick I-IV). If you have a darker skin tone, we'll talk through the best approach at your consultation - MOXI alone or combined with Sylfirm X is often a better fit.

The Duo is BBL + MOXI together in one appointment - $1,000. The Sampler Series adds a third session of Sylfirm X RF Microneedling, giving you one of each of Lucere's three signature technologies - $1,500. If you're curious about what RF microneedling can do for skin tightening, pigmentation or rosacea, the Sampler Series is worth considering.

Most people take the rest of the day off and are back to normal activities the next day. Days 2-5 your skin may look bronzed or sandpapery as the MENDS clear - this is easily covered with makeup from day 2. We recommend scheduling your appointment mid-week if you have a weekend event.

Many clients do the Duo once or twice a year as a skin maintenance ritual. For more corrective results, a course of individual BBL or MOXI treatments may be recommended after your first session - we'll talk through this at your consultation.
Pre and Post Treatment
Before your appointment
4 weeks before: Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and self-tanner
1 week before: Stop retinoids and active skincare ingredients
On the day: Arrive with clean skin, no makeup
Let us know at your consultation: any history of cold sores, melasma, medications that cause light sensitivity, or keloid scarring
After your appointment
Keep skin cool - cold compress, fan, air con are all good
Wear SPF every day - non-negotiable
Keep skincare simple for one week - no actives, no exfoliants
Avoid heat, sweating and exercise for 1-2 days
Do not pick or scratch MENDS - let them shed naturally
Makeup is fine from day 2
