Microchanneling

for Skin Rejuvenation & Hair Growth

Unlock your body’s natural ability to produce healthy skin and hair.

Modern skin rejuvenation focuses on stimulating the skin’s natural collagen production. One of the most effective and well-researched ways to do this is microneedling. Procell has advanced this technology with Microchanneling, a next-generation approach to skin renewal.

Procell Microchanneling uses a gentle tapping technique to create tiny pathways in the skin. This stimulates collagen production while allowing specialised serums to absorb deeper into the skin, improving texture, tone, and overall skin quality — with less trauma than traditional microneedling.

By activating the body’s natural healing response, Microchanneling helps lift, tighten, and rejuvenate the skin without the inflammation or downtime associated with more aggressive treatments. The result is smoother, healthier-looking skin with minimal recovery time.

Procell Microchanneling can be enjoyed as a stand-alone treatment, typically performed monthly or every few months. It’s also ideal between more advanced treatments to maintain collagen and elastin production without downtime.

Because it’s gentle and low-risk, Procell is an excellent option year-round and a popular choice during summer when laser treatments may not be suitable.

What to expect during your microchanneling treatments

Duration

Approx 30-60 minutes depending on the area(s) treated

Recommended sessions for skin

Depending on what else you are doing for your skin, we will make a treatment plan that is specific to you. If you have more advanced treatments during the year you can use this treatment ‘in between’ times. Or if you love and prefer microchanneling treatments you could have them monthly.

Recommended sessions for hair

To kick off your Procell hair growth journey you will need 6-10 treatments, 2 weeks apart. From there you will need maintenance sessions annually - the number will vary from person to person.

Before Microchanneling

2 weeks before: Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, self tanner, botox, and fillers in the treatment area.

1 week before: Avoid topical agents that may increase your skin’s sensitivity, such as retinoids, topical antibiotics, or acids. Discontinue using any waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis in the area.

At the consult: Let us know

  • any areas with permanent makeup or tattoos;

  • any medications or conditions that cause light sensitivity;

  • if you have any health issues that might impact your healing response;

  • if you have a history of melanoma;

  • if you have active skin infections;

  • if you have a history of herpes (coldsores) outbreaks;

  • if you have a history of keloid scarring.

Full instructions and contraindications will be covered in your consultation.

After Microchanneling

  • Avoid direct sun exposure, wear sunscreen and protective clothing in the sun, particularly the first 72 hours.

  • Don’t touch or scratch. Touching or picking at your skin can introduce bacteria and lead to infections or scarring. Make sure to keep your hands clean and avoid rubbing your face.

  • Relieve any swelling, redness or discomfort by applying your post care sheet mask or cool compress.

  • Keep away from the heat or anything that makes you sweat for 24-48 hours post treatment eg excessive exercise, sauna, very hot showers.

  • For the first 90 minutes, don’t put anything else on your skin (besides your post care sheet mask). After that, keep your skincare simple - do not use skincare or fragrances with active or irritating ingredients for at least one week after treatment.

  • Skip makeup for 24-48 hours. Even the best makeup products could clog your skin’s microchannels and cause irritation.

  • For the first 5 days, your skin will be dryer than normal (trans-epidermal water loss) so drink plenty of water and moisturise often throughout the day.

You will be given comprehensive post care instructions and product recommendations to take home after your treatment.

FAQs

  • Microchanneling is a linear stamping method that creates uniformly distributed channels without causing skin tearing or dragging, leading to reduced discomfort.

    The treatment is quicker due to wider tips covering more surface area.

    Additionally, microchanneling typically involves minimal downtime.

    In contrast, microneedling creates irregular and angled channels, making it a more abrasive procedure with downtime lasting between 5 to 7 days.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles, Acne scarring, Pigmentation and Melasma issues, Skin tone, Surgical scars, Rosacea, Large pores, Stretch marks, Skin tightening, Overall skin rejuvenation, Strengthening the Epidermis and Hair Loss

  • As Procell microchanneling treatments are minimally invasive, they are also safe for all skin types.

    Whether you are fair-skinned or dark, and even if you experience chronic breakouts, properly conducted microchanneling treatments will not result in hyperpigmentation, keloid scars, or other lasting negative side effects.

    Microchanneling is a non-ablative procedure.

    Contraindications are Pregnancy and Breastfeeding (To date there have been no studies conducted to see what effects these treatments may have), uncontrolled diabetes, active herpes simplex in the treatment area, dry skin and any active inflammatory skin condition e.g. eczema, psoriasis, infection, rash or any type of dermatitis at the treatment site as it may aggravate the condition.

  • For the 0.25mm tip, numbing cream is usually not required. For longer lengths, some clients prefer numbing cream but most do not require it. Due to the speed of the treatment, it is recommended to use a basic numbing cream that is fast acting and wears off quickly. You can get this from your local pharmacy.

    Numbing cream is not used for hair regrowth treatments.

  • It is always better to start with the 0.25mm tip depth. For the most part, clients will be very comfortable with the 0.25mm. After the first procedure you can graduate up to the 0.5mm as results will typically be more substantial.

    For hair regrowth treatments these are all done at 0.5mm as this is the optimal depth to stimulate collagen production, blood flow to your scalp and stimulation of stem cells.

  • For Face and Body Microchanneling Treatments these should be typically performed every 4 weeks irrespective of the needle depth used in the prior treatment.

    Due to cellular turnover being different with age you may wish to perform treatments in a shorter time for younger clients (e.g. every 3 weeks if they are under 40) and a longer time frame if they are older (e.g. every 5-6 weeks if they are over 60)

    For Hair Regrowth Microchanneling treatments it is advised to do these every two weeks however if a customer is combining facial treatments at the same time four weeks is fine.

  • The number of Procell Therapies Microchanneling treatments depends on the individuals skin condition.

    Typically for fine lines, wrinkles, crows feet, skin laxity, pigmentation, melasma andvrosacea you will require 3-4 treatments to achieve a good result with each treatment delivered everyvfour weeks. Acne, surgical scarring or stretch marks usually require a minimum of six treatments.

    For hair regrowth a minimum of six Hair Regrowth treatments are typically required

    There is no limit to the number of treatments that one can receive as long as adequate time passes in between each treatment.

    It is also beneficial for clients to have periodic maintenance treatments and the timeframe would vary by age and the nature of their original skin condition. As a rule of thumb every 6 months is recommended.

  • There is a very wide range of normal post-treatment reactions. Anything from little to no reaction, to a deep red flush. There can be some pinpoint bleeding for longer length needle tips.

    As this is a non-ablative procedure, more extreme reactions do not necessarily correspond to more extreme results. In general, with a 0.25mm or 0.5mm tip you will usually see a pink or red “flush.”

    With 0.25mm and 0.5mm needles it typically only takes a few hours for all redness to disappear (sometimes less).

    For 1.0mm and 1.5mm this could stretch out to a few days for all pinpoint scabbing to disappear.

    Treatments can be purchase as a single treatment or in a series as a package deal. Purchasing a package deal is a good way to save money in the long run.

  • Though neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen) can take several weeks, but sometimes you can begin seeing neo-collagenesis (new skin formation) as soon as two weeks after a procedure.

    It is not abnormal to notice an improvement in the quality and appearance of your skin within the first 24 hours.

    After 2-3 treatments a thicker more robust, collagen filled cellular matrix will produce more consistent and noticeable improvement. And 6 or more treatments may be recommended for scarring, laxity and wrinkles.

    Skin Plumping/Glowing skin from the Microchannel Delivery Serum is noticeable almost immediately and for the few days following each treatment.

    For hair regrowth it can take up to nine months to see results, as hair follicles need to go from a resting phase to an active phase.

    Following a series of treatments results can last 2-10 years however age, diet, genetics, ongoing skincare, UV exposure and smoking habits are just some other factors that will determine the level of results and how long they last for.

  • Typically combining treatments will result in longer downtimes but can yield impressive results. Some treatments such as a light microdermabrasion or light chemical peel can be performed right before Microchanneling as long as the face is then cleaned before starting the Microchanneling treatment.

    Deeper peels, skin tightening, HIFU, Radiofrequency, Laser, and all injectable treatments require a minimum period of 2-4 weeks before having a Procell treatment .

    Light therapy treatments are typically the only treatments recommended post-treatment. No procedures that involve the use of any topical solutions immediately following Microchanneling.

  • Microchanneling stimulates keratinocytes in the skin to release growth factors that induce collagenesis. As you get older, these keratinocytes become less and less effective at this so the treatment on its own becomes less and less effective. Because of this the growth factor and cytokine-based skin solutions become more and more important as a client progresses in age.

    Using the aftercare serums as well will cause the skin to continue producing growth factors even while in between treatments.

    Results will be good with microchanneling only, but excellent with the aftercare serums.

  • Procell's Microchannel Delivery Serum contains growth factors, cytokines, and DNA Repair Enzymes in a hyaluronic acid suspension.

    Growth factors and cytokines are naturally-occurring in the human body, although Procell's serum creates these proteins from bio-engineered sources.

    There are no human, animal, or plant cells, DNA, blood, or any other foreign substances. The product has been used safely and effectively for over a decade.

  • Yes, the Procell Microchanneling system is designed to work as a whole. Using the device without the serums removes the synergy that makes Procell proven and effective.

    Microchanneling creates the pathways, but without the serums, your skin may not have enough of the signaling proteins from stem cells that your body produces to repair and build collagen. As we age, those proteins naturally decline, so relying only on what your skin can produce is unpredictable and often ineffective.

    The Procell serums replace those lost cellular messaging proteins (growth factors and cytokines!) with pristine lab-cultured versions, the same exact ones your skin would make if it could. This guarantees consistent, measurable results no matter your age.

  • It is normal for treatments to result in some skin irritation, especially for clients with more sensitive skin.

    Always wait a minimum of 90 minutes before putting anything else on the skin. During this time it is normal for the skin to remain pink or light red. After the 90 minutes you can apply additional moisturizer or other products.

    Keep in mind however, that as your skin may be more sensitive than usual for several days after the treatment, especially strong topicals should be avoided until the skin returns to normal.

  • With minimal physical discomfort, most clients are able to do the procedure without numbing cream and without any noticeable pain. There is no lingering discomfort, and we have a number of strategies we employ to minimise discomfort during treatment.

    Post-procedure, most people report a “tight” feeling in their skin.
